About the company:

Makumbuso Village Museum is an open-air ethnographic museum located 10 kilometers north of the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam. It was founded in 1996 and is part of the National Museum of Tanzania.

It represents Tanzania in miniature and allows you to learn more about the life of the indigenous population of the country, touch the local culture and get an idea of its features and color.

The museum presents traditional types of houses that exist among the tribes of Tanzania. You can enter them and get acquainted with the way of ordinary residents of this African country. The houses are fully furnished with furniture and equipped with household items. Near the huts, cattle pens, grain sheds and stoves used for cooking can be seen.

On the territory of the museum almost every day there are different tribal and village holidays. If you want to take part in the action, you will have to pay a small fee for it. In addition, you can try the national cuisine and buy national clothes, dishes or just a small souvenir.
