Mrigadayawan Palace

Tambon Cha-am, Chang Wat Phetchaburi 76120, Thailand

Description:

The palace of Mrigadayavan, or as it is also called - Marukatayavan, is a fairly modern building. The palace was built in 1925 from teak wood as the summer residence of King Rama the Sixth. The building was designed by the king himself, who called his residence the Palace of Love and Hope. The final touches of the project Rama VI gave the Italian architect Ercole. Unfortunately, the king only visited his palace twice. After his death, the palace was practically not used and even fell into disrepair. In 1981, the building became part of the National Historical Museum. The palace is now open for excursions.

Located almost on the beach, near the sea, surrounded by a garden, the palace looks light and beautiful building. In the garden you can take a bike tour. Inside the palace is allowed strictly 20 people (more can damage its lightweight structure).

The palace is open to visitors daily except Wednesdays and public holidays. Admission is paid, clothing should be below the knee and cover the shoulders.
