Wat Jed Yod Temple

Chiang Rai, Thailand

Description:

Wat Jed Yod is the Seven Hills Temple and one of the least visited complexes in Chiang Mai.

The name Wat Jed Yod was given in connection with the seven stupas located to the left of the temple complex, completely unusual in Thailand. The fact is that this temple is an exact copy of the shrine of Mahabodhi, located in the Indian city of Bodhgaya. Wat Jed Yod was created in the fifteenth century to organize the eighth Buddhist council.

The triangular base, created from seven stupas, has a large hall, externally similar to a cave, and a modern viharn, the main room of the temple, stands in front of an ancient monument.
