Wat Pan Den Temple
Tambon Inthakhin, Chang Wat Chiang Mai 50150, Thailand
Description:
Wat Pan Den is a rather unusual Thai temple built of teak wood in the style of Lanna. It is considered one of the most remarkable and largest temples in Chiang Mai.
The temple complex consists of a main hall, a viharna, a meditation hall, rooms for monks and other buildings.
In 1988, the temple was restored by the new abbot Kru Ba Tuang. One of the most impressive buildings of the temple is considered a wiharn with a three-tiered roof, decorated with intricate wood carvings. Also near the temple built 12 pagodas, each of which corresponds to a specific sign of the zodiac.
Although Wat Pan Den is a relatively new temple, it has become an important place of worship for locals and Buddhists throughout Thailand.
The temple is open from 6 to 17 o'clock.
