Wat Doi Tan Pra Phaluang

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Description:

Wat Doi Tan Pra Phaluang is one of the most famous and oldest shrines in the region, built more than seven hundred years ago.

The temple building is located in a picturesque place at an altitude of 1.156 meters above sea level, overlooking Doi Sutep Mountain and Chiang Mai Plateau.

The Buddhist community from all over the world has been making pilgrimages to the holy relics of the Buddha in the golden pagodas of the temple for many years. The ascent to the building of the temple takes a staircase about three hundred steps long. For less energetic pilgrims and tourists, there is an opportunity to reach the top by funicular.
