Maetang Elephant Park

Maetang Elephant Park is home to 70 Asian elephants. The park is located in the beautiful Maetaman Valley, on the banks of the Maetang River, 50 kilometers from Chiang Mai.

The creators of the park are the Chailert family, well known in Thailand for their large-scale activities in the field of helping Asian elephants. Elephants were brought to the park from different locations. Some of them worked in the logging industry, some were brought from the circus, some elephants were used by people for begging on the streets.

The Chailert family has created natural conditions for elephants in the park, so Asian elephants in their natural environment feel great and successfully reproduce.

The park is open to visit every day. People can spend the whole day with elephants. Here you can ride an elephant through the jungle, feed animals, visit the village of Lisu, ride a bamboo raft on the Maetang River.
