Wat Rong Kun Temple (White Temple)
Pa O Dong Chai Muang Chiang Rai 57,000
Description:
Wat Rong Hoon Temple is considered the most unusual Buddhist temple in Thailand. It is relatively young – its construction began in 1997. The creator of this unique monument is Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who is rumored to have built the temple only with his own money in order to immortalize his name in history. Every detail, every ray of the roof, every figure in the temple, the artist performed according to his own sketches.
To describe the temple in words is simply impossible. It looks as if it was not created by man, but by some unseen force. The completely white jagged temple is surrounded by ponds teeming with sacred fish. Inside the temple you can see the works of the artist Chalermchayu and even buy some of them.
