Chiang Rai

Kaleidoscope of the North: Three Colors of Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle

Description:

The maximum contrast is from space architecture to the wild jungle of the borders of the three states.

ня️Tyming and Program of the Day ## 07:30 – 08:30

| ло White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) - The Beginning of a Fairy Tale
What do we do?
Come to the opening, while there are no crowds of tourists and the morning sun perfectly illuminates millions of mirrors. This is not just a temple, but the revived surreal art of the artist Chalermchai Kositpipat.
Impressions:
We will pass through the “bridge of the cycle of rebirth” over the outstretched hands of sinners from hell directly to the pure abode of the Buddha. ### 08:50 - 09:30

The Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten)
What do we do?
We move into the world of deep indigo and gold. The temple was built by a student of the creator of the White Temple, but in a completely different, neon and mystical style.
Impressions:
The huge white Buddha inside the blue hall looks fascinating. ###09:45 - 10:45

| д️ Red Temple / Goddess of Mercy (Wat Huay Pla Kang)
What do we do?
In fact, it is often referred to as the "Red Temple" because of the bright 9-storey Chinese-style pagoda, but the main visual shock here is the **giant almost 80-meter white statue of Guan Yin** (Goddess of Mercy).
Impressions:
Take the elevator directly to the “head” of the Goddess (inside it is a beautiful stucco), from where a panoramic view of all the hills of Chiang Rai opens through the eyes-windows. ## 11:15 - 12:15

| в Break on Aesthetics: Cafe (Chivit Thamma Da / Lalitta Café) >
Note: In Chiang Rai is incredibly popular *Lalitta Cafe* - a lively fabulous forest with artificial fogs, waterfalls and moss, where you feel like an elf.
What do we do?
Time to breathe out, drink great northern coffee or refreshing smoothies and take about a hundred unreal pictures in foggy green scenery. ## 13:15 - 14:00

The Temple of Scorpio (Wat Phra That Doi Wao) and the Glass Bridge
What do we do?
We move to the northernmost city of Thailand - Mae Sai (border with Myanmar). We climb to the temple, which is guarded by a giant formidable scorpion.
Impressions:
We'll test the nerves on the new Skywalk glass bridge. Underfoot is a chasm, and right before your eyes is a panorama of neighboring Myanmar (Burma). The border is visible in the palm of your hand! ## # 14:30 – 16:30

| у️ Golden Triangle: River confluence and landing in Laos
What do we do?
We arrive at the legendary point where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar converge.
Water adventure:
We board a motorboat and take a cruise on the great Mekong River. * Arrive in Laos: * Dock on the Laotian island of Don Sao (special tourist area, no visa required). Here you can buy souvenirs, Lao Beerlao or try the local exotic tincture on snakes / scorpions. ## 17:00 - 18:00

| ной Optional: Sunset at Choui Fong Tea Plantation
What do we do?
On the way back to Chiang Rai, we stop at the endless emerald terraces of tea plantations.
Impressions: We see off the sun that sets behind the green hills. In the local futuristic cafe, try an incredible dessert: green tea match roll or tiramisu with tea, and buy premium oolong with you. ### 19:00
