Kaeng Krachan Dam Reserve

Phetchaburi, Thailand

Description:

Kaeng Krachan Dam is one of the largest national parks in Thailand. The reserve is located near the famous tourist town of Hua Hin.

The park was opened on 12 June 1981. It is the twenty-eighth national park in Thailand. Its original area was 2,478 square kilometers, but on December 27, 1984, its boundaries were expanded.

The attraction of the reserve were wild elephants, which can be found in the forests. Forests, in turn, contain a wide variety of tropical plants, including subtropical broadleaf trees and many palm trees.

The reserve has 57 species of mammals and more than 400 different species of birds.

But despite the status of a national park, there are also fenced private plantations on the territory.

Kaeng Krachan Dam National Park will be of interest to fishermen, for whom excursions to the dam are held here and the opportunity to hold the fishing rod in person.

After a good day, you can have a quiet dinner at a local restaurant in the park.
