Marukatayawan Palace
1349 Petchasem Road, Cha-am, Phetchaburi 76120, Thailand
Description:
Marukatayavan Palace was built in the twenties of the last century during the reign of King Rama VI. The palace is made in a rare Thai-Victorian architectural style and was the personal residence of the king.
The palace consists of three buildings, each of which had its own functions. The enfilade of rooms housed a throne room, as well as bedrooms, where the king's family and important guests lived. The servants of the royal family lived separately, in the north wing of the palace. The most impressive two-storey pavilion was intended for meetings between the king and his subjects, as well as for theatrical productions.
Today, the Marukatayavan Palace is a museum open to everyone. You can get here every day from 8:00 to 16:00.
