Kanchanaburi

Erawan National Park

Amphoe Si Sawat, Kanchanaburi, Thailand

Description:

Erawan National Park is well known in Thailand, particularly for its famous cascading waterfall.

The National Park, established in 1975, covers a fairly large area of 550 square kilometers. The most famous and popular part of it is the area where the famous waterfall Erawan is located. Near it is almost always crowded - people walk around, swim in the waterfall, enjoy the spectacle.

The territory of the park is composed of mountains and valleys and is quite picturesque. But the rest is less popular, and therefore much more like a fragment of a virgin forest. Here you can find rare species of plants, as well as animals - elephants, gibbons, Siamese hare and others.

For tourists in the park there are several small hotels and a food store.
