Erawan Falls
Thailand, Kanchanaburi Province, Erawan National Park
Description:
Erawan Falls is located on the territory of the national park of the same name. Interestingly, it was the park that got its name from the waterfall, and not vice versa, as it usually happens.
The 831-meter-high waterfall is a 7-level cascade reminiscent of the shape of the mythical Hindu elephant Eravan – hence the name of the waterfall. The water collected in the pool is a magnificent turquoise color. Fish swim in it, which make a real peel - remove dead particles from the skin. The territory of the first cascades is the most crowded. It is forbidden to bring food and drink beyond the first level. The third cascade is distinguished by a large pool, into which water falls from a 10-meter height. The fourth waterfall drains from two boulders and you can roll off them like a water slide. By the fifth and sixth cascades, the climb becomes more difficult, and the seventh can only be reached by a steep bamboo staircase. To those brave who get to the very top, as a reward a stunning view of the magnificent surroundings.
