Bright Phi Islands - Phi
Description:
The most famous islands of Krabi province are Phi Phi Islands. Excursion to Phi Phi Islands is in the top 5 most favorite excursions among guests. Where's that interest coming from?
First, the famous American film “The Beach” was shot here, where the handsome Leonardo DiCaprio was in the title role. Everyone considers it their duty to visit the very bay of Maya Bay, where Leo lived and hid from society. Interesting fact: snow-white sand, resembling flour, was not always here. It was brought specially for the shooting of this film, thereby destroying a rare species of shellfish, and with it a rare species of birds. For such a loss, the authorities of the Kingdom of Thailand sued a Hollywood film company for six million dollars to restore the island.
On June 1, 2018, Maya Bay was closed for nature restoration. Presumably, it will be possible to land on the beach again in June 2021. However, no one prohibited enjoying the view of the bay. During the tour, we will swim as close as possible to the "local attraction" and take stunning photos for memory!
Secondly, the Phi-Phi Islands consist of six islands that can really boast of their unique beauty.
During our excursion to the Phi Phi Islands we will visit Bamboo Island, the famous Maya Bay, Phi Phi Don Island (the only island with civilization and infrastructure), the Viking Cave and the Phi Phi Lay Lagoon.
After visiting the bay, a stunning rock with a cave will open in front of us, the locals call it “Viking Cave” (Viking Cave). The Thais made up an interesting but untrue story about the life of the Vikings here many years ago. Now this cave is home to swallows whose nests are collected for use in Chinese medicine.
Snorkeling stop near Phi Phi Don Island. It is considered the best place to explore the underwater world: the purest water and a variety of marine life, and sometimes even have the opportunity to see a turtle!
The only island in civilization is Phi Phi Don. Life here just boils day and night: a large number of restaurants, cafes, night bars; hotels; hostels and all sorts of places with entertainment. In one of the restaurants with Thai cuisine, we will have a hearty lunch of rice, chicken and vegetables.
We swim further and get to the uninhabited island of Bamboo Island. Guests from Russia persistently call it Bounty Island. Let’s not argue, because it really looks like an island from advertising, which many dream to get even for a minute. We will have an hour to sunbathe and swim in azure water. On the boat, the guide will offer you fresh fruits: watermelons, mangoes and pineapples.
A little tired, but filled with emotions and impressions, we go to Krabi.
