Doi Phu Ka National Park

About 25 km East of Pua on the 1256 road, Pua,

Description:

Doi Phu Ka National Park is the largest reserve in Thailand. It is created around the basin of two northern rivers - Nan and Pua.

The park is located in the northern part of the country, 18 kilometers from the border with Laos. The reserve got its name because of the mountain of the same name, on which picturesque trees grow, called in the local dialect Chompo Phu Ka. The pink flowers of this tree are similar to cherries and are called in Russian "Bretschneider Chinese". These plants are preserved only in the valley of the Nan River and therefore are of particular interest and value.

Doi Phu Ka is approaching 246 square kilometers. Here is preserved a unique landscape of mountain evergreen rain forests.
