Sala Keoku Sculpture Park
Tambon Wat That, Chang Wat Nong Khai 43000, Thailand
Description:
Sala Keoku Sculpture Park is a fantastic and extraordinary park created by Luang Sulitat in 1978, inspired by the ideas of Buddhism and Hinduism. Some of the sculptures of the park reach a height of 25 meters. Here you can see a monumental image of the meditating Buddha, who is protected by the seven-headed serpent Naga.
A large three-storey concrete pavilion was built on the territory of the park, the domes of which are very similar to a mosque. It was built after Sulitat's death. On the third floor of the pavilion are items related to the personality of Sulitat, as well as his mummy.
Perhaps the most mysterious part of the park is the Wheel of Life, a circular composition of several sculptures depicting the karmic cycle of birth and death.
