Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park

Hwy 2331, Noen Phoem, Phitsanulok, Thailand

Description:

Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park is located in Phitsanulok province of central Thailand on an area of about 300 square kilometers. The park is of great historical importance. During the national liberation battles that took place on its territory, most of the rich wild forest with its diverse wildlife was destroyed. It was declared a national and protected park in 1984.

On its territory there are high mountains with very steep slopes. The park is a source for many local streams and rivers. Due to the large number of mountains and high location, it is always cool here. Even in the hottest season, the air temperature in the park does not exceed 25 degrees.

In the open area, mixed forests grow, along the rivers and at the height - a dry evergreen forest, and flat terrain with sandy soil was chosen by tropical forests. In the rocks in the off-season you can see a variety of flowering wild orchids. The park is a habitat for tigers, boars, Himalayan bears, foxes, leopards, hares, monkeys, wild cats and some species of birds.
