Prachuap Khiri Khan

Pranburi River

Prachuapkhirikhan, Thailand

Description:

The Pranburi River is located on the isthmus of Kra, in Thailand, and flows through the province of Prachuapkhirikhan. The river originates in Kangkrachan National Park, and at its mouth is a protected area of the Pranburi Mangrove Forest Park.

There are interesting cruises along the river along the mangrove forests and even with access to the Gulf of Thailand. 20 kilometers west of the city of Pranburi, in the mountains, is the Pran Buri Dam reservoir. From the dam on it and the mountains opens an excellent view, especially fascinating at sunset. Those who wish can go fishing here.

The Pranburi River is one of the important tourist sites in Hua Hin. Here you can see giant lizards up to 3 meters long. The river valley is the habitat of many different species of birds, especially the red-billed and blue-winged King Fisher.
