Mount Hohuanshan

Hualien, Taiwan

Description:

In the very center of the island is one of the most famous sights of island nature - Mount Hohuanshan. As an integral part of the Zhongyangshan Mai or Central Mountain System, the mountain has several peaks. At the same time, the main peak, having a height of 3,416 meters above sea level, is not the highest.

The nearest settlement to the mountain peak is called Puli. It is located, like the mountain itself, in Nankou County in the center of the island. The picturesqueness of these places in recent decades has attracted many tourists not only from this, but also from many other countries of the world. Most tourists come from China and East Asia.

Hohuanshan Mountain is one of the few places in Taiwan where snow is guaranteed in winter. From the pass connecting Puli with neighboring settlements, to the top of the mountain at one time you could climb on the lift. However, for commercial reasons, it is not available today.

Nevertheless, Hohuashan today is becoming an increasingly popular place due to the amazing scenery that opens from the slopes and tops of this beautiful mountain of the island.
