Temple of Paochueh
No.140 Jianxing Road, North District, Taichung, Taiwan
Description:
Paochueh Temple is a Buddhist temple founded in 1927. The temple building is built in the traditional oriental style and resembles a squat three-level pagoda. During the war, the building fell into decline, but in the fifties of the last century was restored.
The interior of the temple amazes with oriental splendor. The combination of cinnabar and gold emphasizes the festive atmosphere. After all, Buddhism is a fairly bright and cheerful religion. Even the main attraction of the temple is a seven-meter statue of the laughing Buddha. A huge gilded Buddha, sitting on a gray pedestal with rosaries in his hands, smiles with approval to visitors coming to the temple on a special path.
