Shei Pa National Park

One of the most famous places for hiking in Taichung is the Shei Pa National Park, whose area is about 768.5 square kilometers. In this amazing corner of nature there are high mountains with steep slopes, full-flowing rivers, cascading waterfalls and beautiful valleys.

The climate here is variable, there are sharp temperature changes, because of which tourists can often observe various weather events during one season. In the Shei Pa National Park collected about 1103 species of plants, 61 of which are listed as endangered. Also here you can see 6 species of amphibians, 97 species of birds, 89 species of butterflies, 16 species of freshwater fish, 32 species of mammals and 14 species of reptiles. In 1992, a park management building was built on the territory of Shei Pa Park. Once inside it, you can watch fascinating films about the local flora and fauna. There are also special places in the park where you can have a picnic.
