Description:
The city park in Taichung was created by the Japanese in 1903. Throughout its history, the park has changed many times, along with which its name has changed. So, the original name was “Nakonosima Park”, in 1945 it was renamed “Taizhong Park”, and in 1947 its name was changed to “Zhongshan Park”. Now the park has its former name “Taizhong Park”, which was returned to it in 2000.
Its entire territory is covered with meadows, flowers and trees, and in the middle of the park is the lake “Moon and Sun”, which is its highlight. Tours of the lake by boat and kayaks are held for visitors, and pavilions are built on the banks of the reservoir, many of which are architectural monuments. The park itself was recognized as a historical value of Taichung in 1999.
