The Eight Fae Cave

Hualien County has attractions for every taste. In addition to the emerald mountains and the azure ocean, you can also see the underground wonders of the island of Taiwan. The Eight Fei Cave or Basiandong has long attracted people to it.

The cave is just an hour and a half drive from Hualien in a southerly direction. You need to go on the seaside highway.

The cave itself is one of the most interesting sights in the district. Here you can see what nature makes of ordinary rocks. An ancient Chinese belief about eight fairies that bring good luck gave the name to this object.
