Taiyang National Park

Description:

One of the main attractions of the Taiwanese resort of Tainan is the beautiful Taiyang National Park. Its distinctive feature is a unique landscape that includes numerous lakes and rivers. The latter flow into the sea and carry a large amount of sand. Over time, thanks to strong winds and tides of waves, the mouths of the rivers gradually overgrown with silt, forming bizarre sand mounds of various forms. Taiyang National Park has several wetlands that are of national importance.

It is very interesting that Taiyang National Park is on the migration path of Asian bird species, so tens of thousands of individuals flock to the region every autumn. On the territory of the reserve you can find about 200 species of birds, among which there are rare species, for example, the black spoon. Also in the park there are about 26 species of fireflies, 30 species of reptiles and 22 species of mammals.
