About the company:

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature is the country’s first museum dedicated to literary art. The museum was founded in 2003. The history of the building in which the museum is located goes back to the beginning of the 20th century, namely in 1916. This house was originally built as the administrative center of Taiwan.

The modern European style museum was designed by architect Moriyama Matsunosuke. During the Second World War, the building was badly damaged and the following years remained in a state of desolation, and restoration work began only in 1997.

The building opened as a museum only in 2003. Now the National Museum of Taiwanese Literature is a perfect example of the synthesis of literature, culture, architecture and history. The museum archives store valuable samples of literature, ranging from Malay-Polynesian culture to literature of the current years.

On the territory of the museum there are specially equipped children's reading rooms, where children can not only get acquainted with samples of literature, but also learn.

The purpose of the museum is to preserve the literary knowledge accumulated over the years and help everyone to join the art.
