Day of the Republic of Turkey

National flags are displayed on this day.Cumhuriyeti Bayrami. It commemorates the proclamation of the Turkish Republic (Cumhuriyet Turkiye) in 1923. On this day, national banners are hung, solemn events are held in schools, demonstrations are held on the streets.

In the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Anitkabir, on a special ceremonial site, guards reviews are held. Various parties mark the day with debates about the country's past and future.

Closer to the evening, fireworks and celebrity performances are arranged in squares and boulevards.
