Cadifekale Castle

Kadifekale Castle is a must visit if you happen to be in the Izmir region. Built during the time of Alexander the Great, it consists of several well-preserved towers and a large defensive wall. Not so long ago, most of the buildings were reconstructed. Located on a hill, which offers a beautiful view of the old part of Izmir and the sea coast.

You can get to the castle by one of the city buses (Konak stop), and the way back in good weather can even be done on foot. The fastest and most convenient way is to take a taxi.
