Alsancak Mh., 35220 Konak/zmir, Turkiye

Description:

The first building of the Anglican Church of St. John the Theologian in Izmir was built by the Levant Company for the workers of the Smyrna factory and their families. The second building was built for the British residents of Izmir, and consecrated in 1843.

The modern building of the temple was built at the expense of residents. The foundation stone was laid in November 1898. Construction was completed in 1899. Currently, the church can accommodate up to 150 parishioners. In 1911, a priest’s house was built next to the church. It is now surrendered to the British government and used as a British consulate.

Every Sunday at 10 a.m., after tea and socializing, services are held in English.
