About the company:

The building of the modern Ethnographic Museum in Izmir was built in 1831, and is a fine example of neoclassical style.

The first ethnographic compositions were exhibited in the museum on October 29, 1978. At the moment, the exposition of the museum presents such folk types of creativity as ceramics, carpet weaving, felt production and leather processing. All these types of crafts are considered to be gradually dying out.

In the museum building, the first and second floors are occupied by exhibition halls, the third is used as a warehouse, laboratory, photography studio and office. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 08:30 to 17:30.

Entrance to the museum is free.
