Valley of the Pashabagh Monks
Pa aba, 50500 Nev ehir, Turkiye
Description:
Pashaba Valley (Valley of Monks) is located seven kilometers from Goreme. In translation it means “Vineyards of Pasha”. Grapes are grown here. But that's not what the valley is famous for. Attention is attracted by stone pillars with caps of volcanic origin. They look like huge mushrooms. In ancient times, within these pillars, monks equipped themselves with cells, where they spent time in solitude and prayers. In one of them is the chapel of St. Simeon the Stylite. He lived here in the fifth century for about fifteen years. There is also an observation deck with a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The valley is considered the hallmark of Cappadocia. You can get there by taxi or rented car.
