Mount Yanartas fire
Near the city of Kemera, 7 km from the ancient city of Olympos
Description:
The mystical place of Kemer is a fire-breathing mountain, located near the small Turkish resort of Chirali. The hill is called Yanartash (translated as “hot stone”) – fire seeps through cracks in the mountain. Day and night, for many years, the depths of the mountain spew out flames, attracting crowds of travelers.
Tourists use natural bonfires, roasting on chopsticks different delicious things. Numerous attempts to extinguish the fire came to nothing.
You can get to Chirali by taxi or by passenger bus (plate with the inscription "Chirali").
