Constitution Day of Uzbekistan

Parliament of Uzbekistan, TashkentOn December 8, 1992, at the 11th session of the Supreme Council of Uzbekistan, the Basic Law of the country was unanimously adopted.

On the same day, President Islam Karimov signed the laws “On Adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On Declaring the Day of Adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan as a National Holiday”, “On the Procedure for Enacting the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

The Constitution of the Republic passed the examination of specialists of the United Nations, the Council for Security and Cooperation in Europe, scientists, lawyers of the United States, Great Britain, France and many other countries, it enshrined the fundamental provisions of democracy: “The people are the only source of state power.”
