Haftkul: Seven Amazing Lakes

In the west of Tajikistan, in the gorge of the Shing River, there is a beautiful natural complex Seven Lakes. It is also known as the Marguzor Lakes, or Haftkul. On comfortable transport, we will go on a journey and visit the whole seven, because each lake is unique and magical. At least because it can easily change its color - but about it at a meeting!

Each of the seven lakes has its own name. We will start with Lake Nezhigon, then visit the lakes Soya, Gushor, Nofin, Khurdak, the largest of all - Marguzor, and the last, called "thousand springs" - Hazorchashma. Almost all lakes belong to the swamp type. What it is and which of the seven is not swampy, I will tell you on the trip. And I will also show ancient petroglyphs found on the shore, which indicates the venerable age of the reservoirs.

Since the lakes are located in the Fan mountains, the elevation difference between them is significant - 760 m.

The lowest is at an altitude of 1640 m above sea level, the last - at around 2400 m. We will visit all seven lakes in a comfortable SUV: ride along the serpentine, admire the best views and arrange a light picnic in a picturesque place.

Organizational details

• The tour will be conducted by me or another guide from our team.
• The length of the path is 120 km in one direction. Without taking into account the stops, it will take no more than 1 hour. Passage of the border between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan at the Jartep-Sarazm checkpoint is about 20 minutes.
• Wear comfortable clothes and grab a headdress. We recommend to take a first aid kit and take pills if you get sick – between the lakes we will go on the serpentine.
• If you are more than 4 people, you can rent a suitable transport for an additional fee (on request).
