Bibi-Khanom Cathedral Mosque

Bibikhonim St., Samarkand, Uzbekistan

Description:

The mosque with bright blue domes is amazing in size. It is located on the territory of a giant complex, fenced by a large wall. It was built in the late 14th century. The mosque is named after the beloved and very powerful wife of the ruler Bibi Khanum, who cared so much about ordinary people that to this day there is a belief that if you ask her, she will help.

It is an aesthetic historical site, but it is not currently operational.

The mosque is conveniently located on the main street Bibikhonim Str., Samarqand, leading from Registan to other attractions, Siab Bazaar is also nearby. The mosque is located exactly in the middle of the hiking route from Registan to the large Temple complex on the mountain (Shahi-Zinda complex).
