Tashkent

Mountains of Uzbekistan

Description:

Charvak is a huge artificial lake-water reservoir surrounded by green slopes of mountains topped with snow caps. It is formed by the Charvak hydroelectric dam. The lake is fed by the waters of three rugged mountain rivers Ugama, Chatkal and Pskem.

As a result of flooding at the bottom of the man-made sea there were traces of ancient settlements, settlement, burial mounds, parking lots of primitive man and other historical monuments, etc. In total, more than 150 monuments of ancient culture were recorded on this territory. In ancient times, the pack paths that connected the Tashkent oasis with Kyrgyzstan and Ferghana ran through this territory.

Today, Charvak Lake is the most favorite place for country summer holidays, both residents of Tashkent and its guests. The lake, like a blue gem, framed by a chain of mountain range has long been turned into a resort. Around the lake right on the mountain slopes there is a ring road, along which there are all kinds of recreation areas and children's camps. They are located near the villages of Bogustan, Brichmulla, Yangikurgan, Yusuphan and others. The largest recreation area is "Charvak oromgohi", near the village of Yusuphana. In this place, the Charvak coast turned into a landscaped beach. At the service of vacationers - a comfortable hotel - "Pyramids" with cozy rooms, restaurants and bars, a conference room. The silhouettes of hotels with pointed green roofs, with built-in solar panels, as if repeat the silhouettes of the surrounding mountain peaks.

For vacationers, all conditions that meet modern standards are created - equipped beaches, sports and playgrounds, a pier for windsurfing or catamaran walks.
