Tashkent - tourism center
Description:
In the center of Tashkent, next to the Lotte City Hotel Tashkent Palace, the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan is located. It was opened in 1974, and its exhibition area is 2500 sq.m., being one of the largest in Central Asia. In the spacious and bright halls you can see paintings and sculptures of many famous masters of Uzbekistan, as well as works of young artists who preserve the traditions of the Uzbek school of painting, while enriching them with modern ideas.
The central place in the building is occupied by the hall of sculpture and graphics, and around it, on the second floor there are halls of painting and applied art. The building itself is no less interesting than its exposition: the facade adorns the national decor, the interior space is filled with light thanks to the windows in the ceiling, and the massive columns and marble decoration emphasize the monumentality of the exhibition hall. In addition, in a small park adjacent to the building there is another open-air hall where sculptures are exhibited, and on warm sunny days and paintings.
The Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, which oversees the work of the Central Exhibition Hall, also organizes exhibitions and other cultural events that contribute to the development and preservation of fine and applied arts in the republic. In addition, the Central Exhibition Hall of AHUz annually becomes a venue for major art exhibitions. Tashkent Biennale, Navkiron Uzbekiston Art Festival, NII+5 Fine Art Week, etc. were held here, in which eminent foreign artists, sculptors, photographers took part.
