Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Yunusabad district, Lashkarbegi str., 18

About the company:

The State Literary and Memorial House-Museum of Sergei Borodin, opened in 1981, is dedicated to the life and work of an outstanding Russian writer who worked in the genre of historical prose. The museum reflects the main stages of life of the famous Russian writer of the twentieth century, the author of the epic “Stars over Samarkand” and the novel “Dmitry Donskoy”.

In the house-museum there are two halls and a memorial part. The first hall contains materials dedicated to the childhood and adolescence of Sergei Borodin. Illustrations, letters, documents testify to the early formation of the interests of the future writer. Sergey Borodin grew up in the city of Belyaev, near the field of the Battle of Kulikovo, which after some time will inspire a student of the Higher literary and art Institute to become a master of historical prose.

In the second hall there is an exposition about the work of Sergei Borodin, from the 1930s to the last days of his life. The documentary base confirms the titanic preparatory work of the writer, which preceded the writing of the historical epic “Stars over Samarkan”.

You can feel the atmosphere of the house in which Sergey Borodin lived and worked in the memorial part of the museum. There is a library, a living room and a writer’s office, which are carefully guarded by the staff of the house-museum.
