About the company:
The Yesenin Literary Museum is a small museum dedicated to the work of the poet Sergey Yesenin. The exposition of the museum consists of autographs, lifetime collections of the poet’s works, photographs, records and much more. The small but attractive building of the Sergei Yesenin Museum in Tashkent is surrounded on all sides by five-storey residential and administrative buildings. It does not resemble special signs from the noisy city streets, but many people quickly find the way to it.
The museum exposition of 3,000 exhibits includes manuscripts and autographs of Yesenin, his publications, photographs and memorabilia. Valuable manuscripts and rare documents were donated to the museum by his children and relatives. The interior of the advisory room gives us the opportunity to imagine the way of life of a European family in Tashkent in the early 20s. The museum was opened in June 1981, based on collections donated by private individuals. In December 1988, the museum received national status. In the lecture room of this museum, evenings of reading the works of the poet, modern masters of the genre, as well as exhibitions of arts are held.
In addition to regular tours of the museum halls and talks about the work of S. Yesenin, Yesenin readings, literary and musical evenings, concerts and views of the slide film “S. Yesenin and the East”, created by the director of the museum V. Nikoliuk, competitions of readers and exhibitions of artists’ works, meetings with interesting people, began to be regularly held. The museum will be interesting to those who are interested in the work of the poet, who are interested in his biography and who simply love poetry.
