About the company:
Muynak Museum of Local Lore is one of the main and most interesting in the city of Muynak, Republic of Karakalpakstan. Its exhibits were collected for many years, until they reached the size of an impressive collection, and in 1980 a local history museum was opened. This was mainly done by Dr. Eserkepov.
There are expositions from the history of the region, samples of flora and fauna, art objects and masterpieces of folk craftsmen. Special attention is paid to the paintings of artists R.T. Matevosyan and F.Y. Madgazin, whose work is devoted to the theme of the Aral Sea and the Amu Darya River.Since the 1960s, R.T. Matevosyan literally falls ill with the theme of the Aral Sea, writes paintings, organizes exhibitions, lives with fishermen and is actively interested in their life and activities. His paintings captured the Aral Sea in all its glory, as well as the withdrawal of the sea, the drainage of the edge. The same theme can be traced in the work of Madgazin: the harmony of nature on the coast of the Amu Darya, the daily life of the workers of the region. Through the paintings of these two great artists, as well as viewing other exhibits, visitors can get acquainted with the history of the region.
