Park Roth
Roath Park, Lake Rd E, Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom
Description:
Opened in 1894, Roth Park is extremely popular with Cardiff residents and tourists, and has not lost its Victorian atmosphere. In its center is a large lake Roth, which is used for recreation, fishing and boating. One of the symbols of the city of Cardiff, the Scott Memorial Lighthouse, is located just on the shore of this lake.
The main parts of the park are located on the cardinal points, the starting point of which is the central lake. To the north of it is the Wild Garden - a place with winding paths, wildflowers not harvested in flower beds and the historic site of the Oval Llandennis. In contrast to the Wild Garden, south of the lake is the manicured Botanical Garden - a place where plants are well-groomed and ordered, where flower exhibitions are held and the famous Roth Park Conservatory is located.
The so-called Gardens of Pleasure in the southern part of the park combines sports grounds for every taste: baseball and rugby courts, tennis and playgrounds. For sports activities on the lake you can rent rowing boats. The Society of Radio Controlled Boats often hosts competitions here.
