Capitol Shopping Centre
Queen St, Cardiff, South Glamorgan CF10 2HQ, Wales, United Kingdom
Description:
The Capitol Centre is a large indoor shopping centre in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Located on Queen Street, next to several other famous malls and attractions. Previously, on the site of this building was the Capitol cinema. The mall has a very advantageous geographical location on the transport interchange, near the Queen Street railway station and the Dumfries Place bus terminal.
The opening of the shopping center took place in 1990. It was a large building imitating Victorian architecture – it was very fashionable in the late 80s. Unfortunately, this exterior lasted only a few years, and in 1999 the Capitol Center was completely reconstructed by the owners. New entrances appeared, many internal zones disappeared, but part of the exterior still survived.
The Capitol Centre positions itself as the largest shopping centre in Cardiff, focused on the highest female fashion. Here such eminent tenants as Jaeger, Austin Reed, Hobbs, Dune and many others flourish, as well as a large H&M store. Also in the Capitol Center are the old-timers of this shopping center - Café Caribe and Soho. There is even a nightclub that has its own exit from the center.
