Cardiff Central Station
Description:
Cardiff Central Station, or Cardiff Central Station, has the highest capacity and is the busiest in Wales. Apart from London stations, it is ranked 8th in the UK. The station was opened in 1859. For the sake of its construction, the Taff River was even changed. The liberated bottom was raised and strengthened above the river level. The train station is operated by Arriva Trains Wales.
The north central exit from the station leads directly to the Central Square, which is also an important traffic interchange. Here is Cardiff Central Bus Station, large car parks and taxi stands. Within reach are three important sights of the city – the Millennium Stadium, the Stadium (the second tallest building in Cardiff) and the Southgate Building. The south exit is behind the station and leads to St Mary Street and a parking lot.
Cardiff train station currently has seven platforms, but a project to build an eighth is in the works.
