Seeley Historical Library
9 West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DP, United Kingdom
Description:
Seeley Historical Library is located at the University of Cambridge. It was created in 1807 with a collection of no more than a thousand books. Today, the library accommodates about 300 students, and more than 95,000 volumes are stored here.
The Seeley Library in Cambridge's Faculty of History is named after historian and publicist Sir John Robert Seely. Architectural forms designed by world-famous architect James Stirling delight not only students, but also numerous tourists. To date, the library is considered one of the largest in the UK, which is devoted exclusively to history.
Supporting university training programs is the main task of the library. Students are given access to a wide range of printed texts, periodicals, as well as audio materials and online texts, which are replenished with new copies every day. Here you can take books on subscription in different languages.
