Christopher Wren's masterpiece (1675-1710) combines English Baroque with Renaissance elements. The 111-meter-high dome became a symbol of resilience after the Great Fire of London in 1666. Admiral Nelson and the Duke of Wellington rest in the crypt, and the Whispers Gallery displays unique acoustic effects.

Q: Where to take the most atmospheric photos in London besides the standard tourist spots?

The Neo-Gothic Tower Bridge (1894) is particularly picturesque at sunset when lights are turned on. The narrow alleys of the Temple area with houses of the XVII century create the effect of "old London". The gardens of the Cypress Courtyard in Westminster Abbey have preserved the layout of the thirteenth century, and the Sky Garden terrace offers panoramas from the 35th floor.

Q: What little-known historical places in London are worth visiting for lovers of antiquity?

The Church of St Bartholomew the Great (founded in 1123) is a rare example of Norman architecture. The original medieval hall with hammer beams (1470s) has been preserved in the Eltham Palace. Sir John Soan's collection in his former home includes the Seti I sarcophagus and original drawings by Piranesi.
