About the company:
York Dungeon is a tourist attraction in York. It is the most terrifying museum in the north of England, opened in 1986. It displays the history of the dungeon in the form of a show using acting, authentic scenery, costumes and amazing special effects.
Visitors to the museum travel through the dark and terrifying past of medieval York. The exhibits tell about the horrific acts and their perpetrators, including the torture of Guy Fawkes, the crimes of the robber Dick Terpin and the Viking King Eric Bluedex. Tours lasting about 1.5 hours, based on real historical events. The museum recreates the old streets of York, including the Golden Fleece pub, where visitors are told ghost stories. The museum offers an opportunity to discover the labyrinth of the lost Roman legion and get acquainted with the fate of the witches of Yorkshire. Other exhibitions feature torture chambers with demonstrations of special devices.
York Dungeon is not for the faint of heart, so staying in the museum is not recommended for children under 10.
