Yorkshire Air Museum

Halifax Way, Elvington, York YO41 4AU, United Kingdom

About the company:

The Yorkshire Air Museum is one of the main attractions of the country. It is located on the territory of the old RAF Elvington air base in the vicinity of York, built during the Second World War.

In 1983, the land was cleaned and the original buildings restored. Three years later, an open-air museum opened. Its collection has expanded over the years and now consists of more than 60 aircraft and vehicles, including the rare Halifax and Nimrod bombers. The control tower, military camouflage and cabins of pilots plunge visitors into the military atmosphere of the 40s of the last century. In the huts scattered around the museum are various impressive displays with military themes. It also features an extensive collection of pilot uniforms and memorabilia.

On the territory of the museum there is a restaurant and a souvenir shop, which is very popular with visitors. Two aircraft with open cabins are designed specifically for children.
