Let’s start with the main square of the country – Heroes’ Square – with a majestic monument in honor of the Millennium of finding the Hungarian homeland. There we will also see the building of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Exhibition Hall and take a look at the entire ensemble of the square, on which the frame is worthy of its center.
Walk through the Varosliget City Park and admire the bizarre Vaidakhunyadi Castle, make wishes next to Anonymous and marvel at the intricacies of the historical baths of Szecheny. It will not leave indifferent a look at the lake, where ducks splash in thermal water, as well as at the towers of the largest zoo in the country.
We will continue our walk along the magnificent Andrassy Avenue, with its historical facades of villas and palaces of the Hungarian aristocracy, the puppet theater, the Museum of Terror, the Opera building and the line of the ancient subway, the first in continental Europe. Yerzebet Park (Elizabeth, the beloved Empress of the Hungarians) and the majestic Basilica of St. Stephen are waiting for us along the way.
Reaching the embankment of the Danube, we will see the magnificent spires of the Parliament and walk through its square, nearby is also one of the most beautiful squares of Budapest – Freedom Square.
On the Chain Bridge we will cross the stormy Danube for the sake of the Fortress City, its medieval streets and, above all, the Royal Palace. There you will find the Fortress City with the towers of Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion with a panorama, the residence of the President of Hungary, the Matthias Fountain and ancient squares.
Do not miss the opportunity to admire the views of Pest and Parliament, to see the brilliance of the Danube from the view sites of the Castle Mountain. The most inquisitive will also be able to get to another beautiful viewing site on Mount Gellert and get acquainted with the Citadel, or, for example, visit the Jewish district with the largest Synagogue in Europe.
