Budapest

Romantics of the Hungarian Steppe

Description:

Hungary, although a small country, has different charms. Many people know it from the beautiful capital Budapest, many appreciate thermal pools, many have already admired Lake Balaton. But one of the attributes of Hungary is the Hungarian "Pusta" (this word in Hungarian! meaning steppe, plain), the great Hungarian Plain. The Great Hungarian Plain is a geographical definition, it occupies about half the area of Hungary. The region has rich fertile lands, already in ancient times gave hardworking Hungarians a rich abundance of products. In ancient Hungary, cattle breeding and horse breeding were also important types of economy. The love for beautiful animals continues to this day.

On this tour we will see the romance of Hungarian farms, see beautiful horses, and also learn a lot about the history of the country.

The main event of this program is a horse show. It takes place on a beautiful farm in the vicinity of the city of Lajosmizh. Within the framework of this program, we will be introduced to the skill of training the horses of Hungarian cowboys. They are called "chikosh" in Hungarian. This is a spectacular program, where we will see that the "chikosh" is a real master of riding. Not only horses, but also other interesting animals. The most exotic of them are gray oxen. After contemplation of tourists waiting for riding on horse-drawn carts, the most daring will be able to ride on horseback. The program in many elements converges with the program in Lazar Park. At the end of the program, tourists will have a delicious lunch from the national Hungarian dishes.

On the way to Lajosmiž we will stop in the village of Ocha, where one of the oldest temples of Hungary, built in the early 13th century, is located. This temple is almost completely preserved to our days. Near the temple is a very spectacular museum of village architecture "Shkanzen", where we can get acquainted with the lifestyle of rural people several centuries ago.
