Cafe New York
1073 Budapest, Erzsebet krt. 9-11.
About the company:
Cafe New York is the quintessence of luxury. One of the oldest cafes in Budapest is not without reason the title of “the most beautiful cafe in the world”. Its splendor is striking today just as it was in 1894, when it was discovered. The cafe is located on the ground floor of the New York Palace Hotel (or The Boscolo Budapest Hotel).
Cafe New York has a very rich history, with its ups and downs. In the old days, when this elite institution just opened, it was immediately chosen by writers, journalists and artists. In addition to the indisputable beauty of the cafe, this was facilitated by the fact that on the upper floors of the building at that time there were large publishing houses. After World War I, the building where the cafe was located changed several owners. Cafe New York was closed, and in its place opened: a restaurant, travel agency and even a store of sports goods. In 2001, the Boscolo Group bought the building and renovated the New York Cafe. After its revival, the cafe, as in its former best years, pleases the eye with its splendor. In addition to aesthetic pleasure, here you can satisfy the gastronomic preferences of the most demanding gourmets.
