Cafe Gerbo
1051 Budapest Vorosmarty t r 7-8.
About the company:
Cafe Gerbeaud (the sign on the building is called Gerbeaud) is a special famous cafe in the center of Budapest, located in a chic palace. This institution is a large and famous coffee house in Europe, which could be made the most expensive restaurant, but the prices here are quite acceptable for the average tourist. The cafe retained the style and spirit of the Gründer era.
The name "Gerbaud" came from the name of its owner - a wonderful confectioner and entrepreneur. The cafe opened in 1858 by hereditary pastry chef Henrik Kugler, who a few years later met Emile Gerbaud and shared the business with him. Later, Gerbaud began to manage the cafe independently, achieved world recognition and by 1899 confectioners from other countries came to him for training.
Today, cafe Gerbaud is still famous for its luxurious interior, and magnificent desserts, and a good coffee card. This is a favorite meeting place for intelligent citizens and the main cafe in Budapest for tourists. There are many visitors on any day of the week.
