Children with fish fountain

1014 Budapest, Szent Gyorgy t r 2, Magyarorszá g

Description:

The fountain “Children with Fish”, also known as “Children of Fishermen”, is a decoration presented to Budapest by a sculptor named Karol Senya. The composition is based on the dynamic confrontation of three children with a giant fish.

Despite the fact that this fountain enjoyed great love of both Hungarians and guests of the capital, in 1955 the city authorities decided to remove the composition. However, in 1976, at the request of local residents, “Children with Fish” returned to its rightful place near the Royal Palace, becoming a bright pearl in the crown of attractions of the Buda Castle.

Finding this fountain is easy enough. You need to get to St. George’s Square, where the Royal Palace is located. Here every tourist will be waiting for the famous “Fishers’ Children”.
